Can't figure the games out.

Giants last 2 games, vs. Ravens and Eagles.
Yeah Giants have the tiebreaker on the Vikings. As does Dallas.

If Seattle loses, where will we be seeded now? Are we top 6? Or still outside looking in?

Valhalla, go to ESPN's playoff simulator. If Dallas wins, Vikings get the number 6 seed as of this week! If Dallas loses, Giants get that seed.

Wait, how does dallas (who is behind us in the hunt) beating a AFC team bump us into the 6th seed. did I miss something?

Are you sure? What about Chicago? They would have the tiebreaker over the Vikings.

You'd think head to head would be more important, wouldn't you???
Isnt it the total points scored?

Interesting, I would've thought Chicago's head-to-head wins would be more important.

No, check this link: http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine

If you have Dallas win this week, Minnesota takes the number 6 seed and Giants are bumped out.

I'm not sure why.

Also, Vikings are 1-1 with Chicago, which is why head to head doesn't matter so it goes to division games, where we have a better percentage.

CBS updated now, Vikings 7th, Bears 8th.

In head to head in the division they only count win/loss. Since the Bears and Vikings split the series it would go to the next tiebreaker. Which is best win/loss in the division. Vikings win that over the Bears based on the fact that MN has only 2 losses so far in the division and the Bears have 4.

Well the Vikings currently have the number 6 seed. Dallas eliminates the Giants due to division record and the Vikings eliminate Dallas due to conference record percentage. Interesting.

Dallas has a tough game at home against the Saints coming off a blowout over TB and the Giants are in Baltimore, both ripe games to lose. Chicago plays Arizona who actually beat Detroit 38-10 so that may not be a cupcake game also.

If the Vikings win out, I think they very much will likely make the playoffs, a win next week and the above teams losing will help solidify their standing.

OK all of you playoff scenario nuts...

Can the Vikings clinch a spot this weekend? I'm just curious.
