Re: Vikings @ Lions Gameday Discussion Thread--Week 4
Big game for both teams today. Imagine if the Vikes win today and then the Packers lose to the desperate Saints and the Bears lose to Dallas. Purple sitting alone atop the NFC North at 3-1!
Things I want to see today:
1- Percy needs a TD!
2- Our D harassing Stafford. I think I heard on the radio that Allen had six sacks against them last year (3 in each game). Hopefully that trend will continue, I don't think the Lions have made big improvements to their line
3- Improved pass defense. It's easy to say that Stafford is going to shred our DBs, but this is a new year, new season, & new guys so hopefully our pass D won't be as awful as in recent years. First real test of this year's group.
4- Ponder not taking a step back in his performance

Re: Vikings @ Lions Gameday Discussion Thread--Week 4
The biggest thing I've seen this year is that the TEAM is coming together and playing as a unit, unlike last year where we seemed fragmented all over the place from coaching, to defense, to offense, and even down to individual positions. Thats not to say we're a complete team yet, or that we have the best players at every position. But as a sports fan in general, I think that any team that plays together and has fluidity throughout tends to win more often than not, even without any superstars (and we have at least one in AP and possibly two in Harvin as well). Whereas a team with a few superstars but little teamwork will pull out a few wins and possibly win a few more, but long term not exactly a recipe for success (i.e. Lions). Really what I want to see from this game is for us to continue our momentum and play as a unit and put up a strong showing. Obviously I want us to win as well.

I predicted Harrison Smith would have a break out game last week, he didn't. But I can see him laying some big hits on Calvin Johnson.
