Get Plaxico. Strictly for the red zone. Him, Rudolph and Harvin would be nice inside the 20.

I think Simpson, Carlson and Jenkins should do alright in the red zone. It's going to be up to the QB to get them the ball.

With the tight ends and Jerome Simpson the Vikings have a pretty decent starting receiver lineup. What they don't have is exceptional depth, making the first three weeks without Simpson difficult. Percy wants more plays? Give 95% of the snaps. We also saw that Jarius Wright actually has some skills, and I expect he'll be used.

You're right. But by the looks of Ponders pre-season performance, he may need some long bodied recievers before and after Simpson can play.

Don't forget Rudolph. He should be very valuable in the red zone.

OTOH, you're right about the depth being thin. Not only that but the Vikings need better consistency from Jenkins if he's going to be a big possession guy.

Chris Summers looks like a medium fish in a very small pond from the videos

I doubt he would have much success against NFL level guys

Marvin McNutt. Big dude with good hands. Has anyone else snapped him up?

Signed to Eagles practice squad.

Eh? :o

Marvin McNutt - WR - Eagles

Eagles waived WR Marvin McNutt.

A sixth-round pick out of Iowa last year, McNutt started on the practice squad and then appeared in four late-season games. He made no catches as a rookie. Despite some solid straight-line speed, McNutt never came close to pushing Riley Cooper or Jason Avant for backup wideout snaps.

---
Probably not a good sign if he couldn't beat out Cooper or Avant.

It's not a good sign that they've cut their own 6th round draft choice after just one season. In the middle of the offseason with a roster limit of 90, no less. Pass.

WR competition will be in full force this off-season. I'm hoping we can find a few diamonds in the rough. Which means we might get rid of a a couple of guys from last season. I know Stephon Burton will be gone. I don't see Greg Childs getting waived. So I say we pretty much only have room for 1 new WR. We already have Patterson, Jennings, Simpson, Wright, and Childs (if healthy.)

Well, obviously I am biased, but Marvin McNutt is a very good player. His downfall was probably his route running. The guy has natural ability to beat press coverage and catch the football. We won't sign him, but I hope gets a shot in the NFL.

I like McNutt, too. Must be an Iowa thing. lol.

Never mind.

Marvin McNutt - WR - Dolphins

Dolphins claimed WR Marvin McNutt off waivers from the Eagles.

A 2012 sixth-rounder, McNutt couldn't make it past final cuts before being promoted from the practice squad for four games late in the season. McNutt has 4.50 wheels to go along with a 6-foot-3, 216-pound frame, but has the makings of a career special teamer/practice squader.

The Dolphins are greedy.
