Moore will be on the North squad for the Senior Bowl, which will be coached by the Vikings.

huh? No, they haven't drafted or acquired a QB other than Webb (WR Webb!) over 6'2 since Childress was hired. So clearly it doesn't.
And the whole idea is the same as a tackling corner. You get a corner who is quick and explosive enough and work on what you can. You draft a QB who has the physical attributes and try and coach them along with their abilities. You don't bring in tackling corners and midget QBs and expect to have any success....
You might stand corrected.
They acquired Sage Rosenfels is 6-4 224 and that height helps him see better from the bench so that he can see the field.

yeah, Ponder will have to stand on his tippy toes once he gets hurt again...and again...and again.

You are probably right, that scrawny 6-2 229 pound Ponder is way too small to play in the NFL. But just to name a few starting NFL qbs Brees 6-0 , Rogers 6-2, Stafford 6-2, Romo 6-2, Vick 6-0, Fitzpatrick 6-2, Dalton 6-2, Grossman 6-1.
But there are, true enough ,several other qbs in the league that are 6-3 or taller but I think over time the one to maybe three inch difference does not matter ALL that much.
Let's not even discuss Montana 6-2, Favre 6-2 , Steve young 6-2, or Tarkenton 5-11, Starr 6-0, Unitas 6-2 because we all know that they also were "midgets" that could never succeed in the NFL
Yep, what a Puss....He gets a little hip pointer and although he plays with it (which most players probably would not, especially mobile qbs) and a concussion ( I remember the hit which a lot of qbs would not have even been phased by it let alone keep playing)
Yeah he is quite the "china doll"! Especially playing behind that fortress of a o-line the Vikes protect qbs with (he has maybe 2 seconds to throw the ball before taking hit after hit).
Note:
What Is A Hip Pointer Injury?
A hip pointer injury is an extremely painful, acute injury to the iliac crest of the pelvis. The injury causes bleeding into the abdominal muscles, which attach to the iliac crest. The bone and overlying muscle are often bruised, and the pain can be intense. Pain may be felt when walking, laughing, coughing, or even breathing deeplyNote:

I also notice no 6 footers in the modern NFL. Why is that? Yet plenty of them decades ago? heck even 6'1 has gone the way of the dodo. Shortest you have now looks to be 6'2. With plenty of 6'5ish guys sprinkled in there. (winning super bowls usually).
Unitas linemen in 1970 were 6'5 and the rest 6'3. How many 6'6...or 6'8 behemoths do quarterbacks now have to deal with? 6'3 seems the norm back then. Now 6'5 is closer to the average size of a starter.
(and to be fair, Stafford and Rodgers specifically look a heck of a lot taller than Ponder!)

I am talking about 6-2 Ponder's size. You know like Favre, Rogers, Stafford, Brees, Vick....I think that these are modern era qbs.
Are you going to tell me that Starr, Unitas, Young, and Montana, Staubach, could not play and be very succesfull in "todays" game

No, but I'm going to tell you that being tall is more advantageous to the position than being short. And if I'm going to gamble the future of the team on it, I'm going to do so on someone 6'4~ over someone on the lower end of the spectrum. For every Brees or Rodgers (Vick, Stafford...wow there's a couple winners!) I can name a Roethlisberger, Brady, Manning, Manning.
Next week we'll see 6'6 vs 6'4. And 6'4 vs 6'2 (Rodgers) or 6'4. I rest my case your honor!

Yeah, how did that work out in the Super Bowl last year

6-2 Rogers beating 6-5 Rothlessberger.
This argument is nuts. You love tall QBs and I think that 6-2 QBS are and have been doing quite well. So on my part end of discussion.

Height plays a part. No 5'10" guys are going to be NFL signal-callers. But there are SO many more important aspects to being a successful NFL quarterback. Is it an advantage? Yes. Is it the sole factor? Hardly. Other skills, strengths and intangibles play far more into it than height. Other factors will make or break Ponder. I sincerely wish height was the biggest problem he faced.

I think, as far as eras go, that the real difference in player height is along the lines.Especially offensive line.
There were several QBs of very marginal talent that were over 6 3 and there were not many at all under 6 0 good or bad.
The only real thing I saw was that if a QB was good it didn't matter that much how tall he was. The taller QBs seem to lack a little in the quickness of foot department, while the smaller QBs seemed to use their feet more to make plays.
I think, in the end that a tall QB (6 4 or better) has some advantages if they are a good QB to begin with. Their height isn't what makes them better.....regardless of the era. Also I can't really see a huge physical difference between 6 1 and 6 3. Especially when lineman are there at 6 5 or better in a lot of cases.
QBs seem to be getting a bit taller on average in the last 20 years but it's a factor of an inch, I'd say.
Ponder is average size for his position and there seemed to be as many good QBs of his size than 6 4 or above. Probably more good QBs his size since there are more of them from the get go.
It's an interesting discussion, as I'm always wondering about players from different eras matching up with the current specimens that are playing these days...in every sport. But NFL QB seems a little bit behind that curve because it takes a heck of lot more than size to be succsessful at the position.
It does seem to be catching up with guys like Big Ben, Flacco, the Mannings, Rivers, Brady and Newton.
