We'll need to make cuts for Price and Robinson correct?

I believe so

Oops! Anthony. I still think we need to improve our "other" safety position. More guys equals more possibility that one of them figures out the game.

Just some personal observations/opinions:

- The team cut two of its draft picks this year in B.J Dubose and Tyrus Thompson. Never like to see a team cut draft picks, even if they are sixth or seventh rounder. Now, granted, they will more than likely make the practice squad, but, still.

- On that topic, I never understood the B.J. Dubose pick anyway. We were stacked at defensive end and defensive tackle. Dubose was a tweener and didn't possess any skill that was above-average.

- I am personally disappointed that David Yankey got cut. I had very high hopes for David Yankey when we drafted him. Hopefully he makes the practice squad. I understand he had a bad preseason.

- Shaun Prater had a horrible last game, but I am still disappointed he was cut. I thought he had value because he could play safety and corner.

- Yet again, Sendejo and Sherels found a way to make the team. Personally, I love to watch Marcus Sherels and I am glad he made the team. Conversely, however, I am not a big fan of Sendejo at all. I would have rather seen the spot go to Anthony Harris.

- I am not sure how to feel about the offensive line. The team just traded a sixth round pick for an undrafted player. Outside of Joe Berger, the backups look horrible.

- I am not sure how to feel about having four Tight ends on the roster. Ford would have been a very tough cut, but having four tight ends just seems like a luxury and the team could have addressed another position.

- How in the hell does Zach Line make the team? He is horrible. I would rather see Rhett Ellison/Matt Asiata in the FB role.

- The good news is the defensive line is not lacking for depth whatsoever. If anyone goes down (knock on wood they don't), the team should be in fine shape.

- Overall, I cannot really sit here and belittle the organization for cutting players. I am personally disappointed in a few positions, but I am not Rick Spielman, so what does it matter? I am very concerned about our special teams and our offensive line. They are the weakest groups on the team.

I had a feeling you meant Anthony but I wasn't sure. Maybe he'll make the practice squad.

I was thinking about that yesterday because initially, I had the same reaction. Then I thought: the Vikes drafted 10 players and they've been drafting 9 or 10 every year since Childress was fired. As we know, they can only keep 53 so keeping all 10 rookies is almost the equivalent of replacing 1/5 of the roster. If a team can do that every year, they're probably not doing a good enough job of building a quality roster. At some point, keeping that many rookies simply shouldn't be viable because the team has become too strong and too deep. Hopefully, the Vikes have reached a point where that's the case and it will become even more difficult for mid-to-late round rookies to make the roster as the team moves forward. Ultimately, i think that would speak to the quality of the team in a positive sense.

I think it's a worrisome unit and the Vikes themselves seem concerned, which isn't a good sign at all.

You're far from alone around here but I have no idea why people are so down on Line. I honesty don't get it and it's clear the coaching staff views him very differently than the majority of the fan base. I didn't see all of the preseason games but from what I saw, Line's blocking needs to improve but he gives a good effort, he has good running and receiving skills and he's an asset on special teams. I think he could be a solid fullback if the Vikes intend to use him as a skill player and not exclusively as a blocker.

Xavier Rhodes
Terence Newman
Trae Waynes
Captain Munnerlyn
Marcus Sherels
Jabari Price
Josh Robinson

There is no way we keep 7 CBs. Which two players do you think will be cut when Price and Robinson become available?

(I'm not implying that two of the top 5 guys on this list are gone. Price and Robinson may be temporary keepers, or we could cut a player from a different position group.)

It'll be interesting to see. I'm excited for Price to be back - I think he's going to be a nice player, in time.

I tend to agree. A good barometer is also how many of our rookie cuts are picked up by other teams as well (perhaps compared to other teams/league average).

Good point and how many of those rookie cuts actually stick with other teams is probably an even better barometer.

Well I'm happy to see that the Saints claimed Michael Mauti today! 1. I like the kid. 2. Hes a New Orleans native. 3. I hope it works out for him.

I like Harris (RB). And Price (CB). Wouldnt mind seeing Josh off the team, along with Line. With Asiata as goaline/4th down back AND our FB.

Our main focus though has to be on the Oline. No one even knows for sure the starting lineup for them, or who will play where. We have a good idea, but not certain.

No more athletic picks Rick. I still dont see what you saw in McKInnon and CP to warrant where they were drafted, and we are, or will be DESPERATE if one of out Oline goes doe.

Yeah, why would a football team want good athletes? ;)

I agree that the Ol needs more attention and I understand the gripe about Patterson, even if I don't agree with it, but McKinnon performed admirably as a rookie and it's not as if he was just an athlete and not a good football player when he was drafted. He had already proven himself to be both so what the heck is the complaint there?

Completely agree. McKinnon is way to young in his career and has performed too well when given an opportunity to be complaining about.
