I still think the Buccaneers could provide some interesting scenarios.

I hope the vikings pay him his money, AP realizes that his teammates/coaches truly want him back, and he goes out and William Gays everyone this season. He will come back with vengeance. I love this offense with Teddy/AP/hopefully Cooper or Parker.

Spielman and Zimmer are meeting with him tomorrow:
Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer is finally going to get a chance to make his pitch to Adrian Peterson in person.

Zimmer is scheduled to fly to Houston for a Wednesday meeting with Peterson to discuss the embattled superstar's future with the team, two people with knowledge of the plan told USA TODAY Sports.

Vikings general manager Rick Spielman also is expected to make the trip, said one of the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the fluidity of the situation.

I know the RB position is devalued from when we signed AP to his huge contract, but there are still teams who want to have an every down back and those guys still don't come along that often. He will still help some team sell tickets and that is sill what all of this is about , marketing and media hype.

Yahoo Sports reports Adrian Peterson is pondering potential trade destinations, and is willing to consider a contract restructure to facilitate a deal.

Charles Robinson reports Peterson is having an "open dialogue" with the Vikings about his future, and has "entertained" remaining in Minnesota. Robinson lists the Cardinals, Colts, Cowboys, Chargers and Bucs as Peterson's preferred destinations in a trade. The Vikings have thus far insisted they want Peterson back, but it's nearly impossible to see that happening at Peterson's currently-scheduled $12.75 million salary.

Source says Peterson is meeting with #Vikings because of his respect for Mike Zimmer. The coach remains the Vikings' best shot.

Very curious why Peterson's wife wants to be in the meeting.

Ok, trade him to Tampa for their second round this year, 1st and 3rd round next year. That works for me.

Obviously, I have no idea of the Spielman/Zimmer agenda....but it has the feel and tone of a recruitment mission, like in the case of a FA. That is strange since Peterson is under contract and it leaves 2 possibilities in my eyes: they only want him if it's mutual and/or they want him to restructure.

Would they both be flying down there if they planned on honoring his contract? Does his displeasure with the FO really carry enough weight with them to merit a tade out of respect for the past?

Peterson has ZERO, ZERO leverage. He's under contract. Just because Peterson has teams in mind does not mean Rick will just give him up to them. VIkes are clearly in the driver's seat. And in a total win win scenario!!!!!

My guess is AD wants to make sure his wife is happy, and that's why she will attend the meeting. He has already said she is uncomfortable with him returning to MN, and perhaps Zimmer will be able to help her feel at ease a little. I still think it would be best for everyone to play out this year and go from there. If AD has a typical AD year, people will put last year behind them fairly quickly.

Agree totally. If the point is to keep Peterson, meeting with his wife also is a good move. They can both address any concerns she has.

When I heard his wife was set to attend the meeting, I saw it as a good sign (for keeping AD), given that she seemed to have doubts about remaining in MN.

I'm highly skeptical of all of this. The only thing I'm confident in at this point is that there is some issue in play.
