Botton line is, you have no clue what went on behind the scenes. It was said that he was interested in us but how much interest did we actually have? You have no idea. You're acting like we offered him some big contract and he snubbed us because the colts were better. There wasn't a single report out there that we even offered him a dime.
Also, you say there is no guarantee with us but where is the guarantee with Indy?? No running game, and average WR core, a shady defense, etc. Just because they have Luck doesn't mean he's going to take them to the promised land every year. There are no guarantees in this league.
That does not shock you does it

You really think he's narrowed it down and is choosing between two teams, and he DOESN'T know what he's going to get once he makes that choice?

Maybe not, but the closest you can come to a guarantee is teams with elite QBs making the playoffs. And they have a top 5 to top 3 quarterback in Indy. No one has any idea what we have. The Colts are one game from the superbowl, we're third in our division. If a WR is making a choice between two teams, other than playing time he's going to look at who's throwing him the ball. You're going to tell me right now you have to pick between Luck and Teddy, you'd lean toward Teddy?

The Vikings were reported to be interested but there was nothing about them offering him a contract. He could have simply been talking to them. That doesn't mean we offered him a contract. Do you know how many players these teams talk to throughout an offseason and that specific team DOESN'T offer them a contract?? It happens all the time. I don't know whats so hard to understand about that. I feel like you're just out there hunting for confirmation that "Carter chose the Colts because the Vikings are a bad team". Doesn't really surprise me

Yeah because I said I would take Teddy over Luck? You're really going to sit there and talk about divisions. The Colts are in the most pathetic division in football outside of maybe Carolina's division. Two of the teams in the AFC South are picking 2nd and 3rd in the draft this year. That should tell you enough right there. Indy was 6-0 in their division. Have Indy join our division and I can guarantee you they wouldnt have been 1 game away from the show this year. Their defense gave up three 40 points games and one 50!!! That was after playing the 3 bums in their division 2 times a piece this year.
The Colts are going to last simply because of Andrew Luck. If they didnt have him, they would be in a world of hurt. Having Andrew Luck throwing to you or having Teddy Bridgewater isn't that giant of a difference like you make it out to be. It's not like we're talking about Andrew Luck and Ryan Lindley.
And if you REALLY want to get into detail.....Teddy had a much better completion percentage than Luck did this year. Not saying he is better than Luck but if you want the ball thrown to you where you can catch it, I would go with Teddy. Luck has had major accuracy issues ever since coming into the NFL. It's just he throws 40-50 times a game because they don't have a running game.

I cant believe this is even being discussed. That's like offering a guy a job at Wal-Mart or Zales. The Colts are far ahead of us, and just like some of you think the Vikes are magically going to turn things around for the better instantly, the Colts can too. So much talk about a former CFL that hasn't played a down in the NFL and is 24 years old.
What is something to be a little more worried about is AD not playing for us next year. That's going to change a lot more things then someone that isn't even in the NFL. I would have like to give Carter a chance too at such a low price.

All I'm saying is there is no proof that we even offered him a contract. Do you know how many players refuse good teams to go play for worse teams during free agency?? It happens all the time. I remember specifically that Zane Beadles, a good OG from the Broncos left the Broncos via free agency last year and then ended up signing with the Jaguars. Mind you, there was multiple teams interested in him. He literally went from the very top, to the very bottom. I can't imagine Carter is that concerned about who is the better team and who has more wins and losses right now. He needs to make an NFL roster first and he is well aware of that. All I'm saying is, Nick is claiming that he chose the Colts over the Vikings because the Colts were better when in all reality, he has ZERO clue what goes on behind the scenes. There is a very good chance we didnt even offer the kid a contract.

Are you serious? Have you EVER heard a player say they're narrowing it down between two teams, in the media, and when he decides the team refuses him a deal? Show me a time when that happens. When it gets to this point, where the player announces it, it's a done deal either way. That's what agents, negotiations, etc are for. Players don't announce a decision before all of that stuff is already taken care of.
Yeah because I said I would take Teddy over Luck?
You just took quite a few "examples" trying to show Teddy is in the same league as Luck. Exactly what are you trying to say? Even you can't say it, because you know it's crazy! At least that much is getting through! You didn't say you'd take Teddy over Luck because NO ONE would, not even the most staunch optimistic Vikings fan. So you think a receiver picking a team would?
And having zero clue what goes on behind the scenes is EXACTLY a reason to pick the team that you can look at and see record wise and recent history as being better. That weak Colts division is another reason to join the Colts. You have a better chance of making the post season, and being in a position for early round byes etc.

The Colts have been a front runner for over a week now!! Which very well could have meant the Vikings pulled out of the running. If you remember correctly, Carter himself said he was interested in the Vikings originally. You don't know how strongly the Vikings actually pursued him. You're basing your post off of pure speculation.

Trying to show he's in the same league?? Dude are you even reading my posts?? I simply said he had a better completion percentage that Luck by a long shot. That was it. Everyone and their mother knows Luck struggles with accuracy issues. It's no secret. He was in the bottom half of the NFL when it comes to completion percentage. Like I said once already, do you think this kid is really looking into numbers and statistics already?? He hasn't even cracked a 53 man roster yet. You act like this kid is a shoe-in to make it. You don't know what was offered and who it was offered by so to say that Carter picked the Colts because they are better proves absolutely nothing and once again has no backing behind it.
If you remember correctly, the whole reason this little battle started is because you jumped on here saying Carter chose the Colts because they were good and the Vikings were bad. Bottom line is, you have no clue why he chose the Colts and you don't know what went on behind the scenes when it comes to contracts, interest levels, etc. So all I am saying is, your "point" has no backing behind it and is purely speculation. It's not hard to figure out.

Time will tell on this one...
He has proven nothing in the NFL. We wouldn't even be talking about him
if his daddy wasn't, who he was.

Perennial playoff team with a proven franchise QB.
Or a bottom 10 franchise with a rookie QB
There wasn't any question...

Hey, man, no skin off my back. I couldn't have cared less. Just allows us to target another receiver this year. I take the team's massive interest in Duron as a sign that they are not sold on the WR corps - which is a good thing.

Now we sign Culpepper for a single pre season game so we can hear
"Culpepper to Carter!"

... and since the Vikings will be picking 11th in the draft this year, that means they're not a bottom 10 franchise.
