Has he played a full season though? Between migranes and other injuries, I don't think he has. We may be defining "toughness" in different ways. I can see your point, but I just don't usually think of a guy who hasn't played a full season in 4 years as "tough". That might be an unfair expectation on my part, though...

There's no question we could pay him without Harvin. Getting Cruz would basically be like trading Harvin for Cruz straight up.
I agree, although I think they are going to wait to see how free agency goes first before they make a move for Cruz. You would hope they at least had a plan to replace him once the trade talks began to really heat up. I think they go for Wallace first, to see if they can get him without losing one of their first round picks, and if they can't, they look to Cruz.

I think they'll go for Wallace but settle for Jennings. The more I think about it, the more I think they're unlikely to come off of their 1st rounder.

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I am not really wanting Wallace, (i get the feeling once he gets his money his production with C2K like)

I would much rather have Cruz, Welker, or Jennings in that order

It just doesn't seem like Speilman to go for a 30 year old WR with an injury history. I think they would go for a Brandon Gibson before they went for a Jennings. They do have plenty of holes they could fill with that 23 and 25th pick; they could grab some combination of WR, DT, LB depending on where else they go in free agency. I think if going for Cruz makes you a better team than you would be with 2-1st round rookies, I think you go for Cruz.

I know Percy hasn't actually missed a whole lot of games prior to going on IR last year, but he did miss a lot of practices for his supposed migraines and other injuries. In the past you never really knew how real those injuries were, if he was really fighting through those injuries to play or if he could have been practicing. It's hard to know with the secrecy teams have over injuries. I do remember those years past though the question coming up. And I believe there were reports from Florida that he often managed to get out of practicing there as well. That sort of thing doesnt usually sit well with coaches or teammates. Just something else to add.

I still don't like seeing us lose Harvin but I do think we got good compensation.

I kinda of look at APs reaction the same way I felt when the hilarious co worker got transfered.

Damn he was funny.

Oh well, now I can get some work done at least.

I gotta say I'm pleased with what Spielman has done here. I have been in agreement with Demi on this whole thing and do not like the headcase players. Wasn't Harvin a 21st pick? We certainly got our Value back out of him. I loved him as a player, but we need team players on a young team.

Looks like the GM is doing a great job and I for 1 am looking forward to an interesting draft.

I've heard that the Giants feel Cruz is more a product of the system and would let him go if they received a 1st. All speculation of course.

Maybe Rice and PH won't be teammates after all.
Due to earn a base salary of $8.5 million in 2013, the receiver budget may not be able to bear both Harvin and Rice, who were teammates in Minnesota from 2009 through 2010.

But Rice has had limited effectiveness in Seattle, with only 748 receiving yards in 16 starts last season. The year before, he missed seven games due to injury.

Per a source with knowledge of the contract, Rice has $3.6 million remaining in signing bonus proration, and $3.5 million of his base salary is guaranteed for injury only. Thus, cutting him would create nearly $5 million in 2013 cap space.

I've been wondering if PH would mean Sid Rice would get cut. I could see the Vikings going after him, they know what he is and what he can do. He is exactly the kind of WR they need, assuming he can beat his injury bug.

SCREW THAT!! literally going backwards, lol. Sidney Rice is not at all what we need. He is an injury prone diva crap shoot, that we made the smart decision of not resigning a few years back. Spielman is probably laughing right now.

Rice is not a diva, but he is injury prone and has had one good season.

It's official, we also get a 3rd rounder in 2014. IN my opinion, we pulled off a great trade considering the tough position we were in with PH"

I agree. My friend who's a seahawk fan texted me when the deal was originally reported and I told him I doubt we got much for him. To get a 1st round pick was awesome...to get a 3rd rounder next year is just that much better!

One good season...with a legendary HOF QB throwing to him. He's not a diva in the extreme sense but I think all WRs have some of that mentality in them. The good ones, at least.

I wish Percy success in Seattle and that's starting to look like a pretty formidable team over there, but I just don't see him reaching his full potential there. He wasn't going to here, either. Very few teams would be able to fully utilize him and turn him into a mega-star. The Patriots are the obvious example as well as other teams that have elite QBs. I guess I just haven't seen enough from Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson to think they can do the same.

Somewhere there's a Vikings fan who owns two jerseys: Winfield and Harvin. He's having a bad day.
