how can you compare ponder and freeman's stats? once again, most of ponder's yards came against the prevent defense, and he threw an interception during garbage time. this kid simply does not have what it takes to be a big time qb in the nfl.

Bump for the CDC thread. CDC against the Seahawks 11 for 22 for 63 yards 0TD and 1 INT for a smooth 37.31 rating. Seriously, is Frazier insane for not playing Webb?

The Webb chorus is legitimate after today's performance. Ponder did absolutely nothign for the team today. Protection certainly wasn't fantastic, but you could just tell the guy is not playing with any confidence. I just have no idea what the coaches are seeing that we are not. My fear is Webb is showing himself to be worse than Ponder in practice. Not good...

Stubborn, at least. Ponder should bench himself. He knows he's playing scared and he's hurting the team.

I will admit that I am in Ponder's corner. But that said, it looks like sitting him down right now might be the best option. He really needs to stop overthinking and go out and play. You can almost see him thinking every single thing through. He is certainly not having fun or being aggressive.

Based on what I heard and what I was able to see of the game, it might be the best option. He's clearly lost his confidence. I think the passing game has serious issues beyond Ponder but it starts with him and right now, he's not the same player he was earlier in the year. It's frustrating because I think he has the skills to be a good NFL QB but if he can't handle it mentally and can't bounce back better from adversity, he's not going to make it as a starter. He's dealing with issues a lot of young QBs struggle with but at this point, he's struggling with them to such a degree that ... well, let's just say it's a huge problem.

He could at least get open, right?
WIIIIIIDE open.
Let's bring him and see what happens.
Williamson can get "WIIIIDE open" no doubt. Problem is we'll probably have to sub in another receiver mid-route to make the catch. Maybe he can run with a baton and hand it off like in those Olympic relay races.

Adrian's running should make Christian Ponder's QB job the best in the NFL. How little he has accomplished in recent weeks is just astounding. He alone could get Spielman AND Frazier fired.

Tjack? Someone call Culpepper and bring him out of retirement! It's time to get your roll on!

Honestly TJack doesn't sound like a bad option.
(I'm just kidding, right?)

From what I managed to dig up, check down charlie is the only QB in the league thus far this year who has played 4 quarters in a game and has had less than 100 yards passing. And he did it TWICE by a pretty wide margin. 63 yards and 58 yards. Here is the reality folks. Once the check down is contained, game over. I don't care if AD runs for 400 yards or Harvin gets a bunch of YAC. CDC is like a lost child in the grocery store.

The sad thing is that I am only semi kidding. Even in Tjack's worst games he could at least throw a 7 yard slant

Ya its quite obvious that Ponder sucks and I am not trying to defend him because reality is.......he sucks.
BUT........
I wonder what it is the coaches are doing with him at practice? Is'nt it their job to evaluate Ponder and get him ready to use their game plan? Is Ponder this bad at practice? If he is, why are they not coaching him up? Do they only allow him to throw 2 yard dump offs at practice? Is it possible that what we are seeing on game day is exactly what they are asking him to do during practice?
I think some of these questions should be asked of our so called coaches because IMO they suck just as bad as Ponder does. The coaches are the ones who continue to accept his poor play and dont ever offer any explanation for it. I dont think they have any more insight to the problem then the average fan. Nor do they have the slighest idea how to fix it because if they did......... Ponder and this offense would not have looked like crap for the last 3 weeks.
