They already know that the Gophers play on Saturday and the Vikings play on Sunday. Whatever logistical headaches that entails, they're apparently willing to accept them. So whether they have to do it 3, 4 or more times a season, it should be the same drill each time.
From past news reports, it sounded like the Vikings were very much interested in playing London dates during the two years of construction, due to the lower expected revenues from TCF.
I am all for London. I am of the mind that eventually the NFL will spread out globally to certain degree and every game the Vikings play over there is more exposure for that time.

Doesn't seem like all that big a deal, just means any thursday or monday night games would have to be on the road.

Why would that be? I must be missing something.
In order to prep the stadium for Gopher games on Saturdays possibly? Or because the employees running the games will be Gopher employees and it makes it easier to schedule if all games are on Sundays? Really, it doesn't make sense.
Hopefully the design they will accept will be the one that offers the most open roof capability. I never liked the Metrodome. This team lost some of its aura when it went indoors in 1982. I think it was 1982. If the Pack and Bears can play outdoors....I'm looking forward to 2014 and 2015. Two years of outdoor football. They should hang a sign then. TEMPORARY METROPOLITAN STADIUM. Bring out as many of the '70's players as possible along with Bud Grant before the first game in 2014. Would be quite a show.
The design illustrated on this thread is horrible. Fans should open a thread to place bets to determine which decorative roof section will collapse first due to heavy snow! I'm fiesty today! Hey mothman! What's your take on this.
It should look like a cross between a massive castle and a formidable stronghold, with runes etched into it all over the outside. It should be built in geometric accordance with the earth's own gometry so that when the fans cheered at the right pitch the whole place would have an eerie ring...which in turn would provide the Vikings with protection from injuries and inexhaustble endurance. Everyone will want to play there and other teams would just go there to die. It would be called Vahalla.

It's in the article DavidKarki posted as being part of the agreement. Here's the specific quote
vikings.com wrote:The Vikings may play one weeknight game per season when University classes are not in session and on a date approved by the University.
The classes not in session part makes it difficult to even do one. University is on semesters, so class is in session the entire season save Thanksgiving and the last two weeks of December, so this is basically saying no thursday/monday night games.

I assume the goal is to not disrupt classes and whatnot during the week. That may still leave room to schedule a Monday or Thursday night game in late December. I imagine the Vikings seldom host more than one of either in a given season.

Classes are also preemptively not held several days a year throughout the semester. I assume it will be one of those days.

Yep, agreed. Imagine having a midterm or final on a Tuesday and there's a MNF game on campus, that would suck.
