Man I get a kick out of your posts  And by the way Newton had a 40% Rating his last game and I would never ever trade Ponder for Dalton.

Ive personally seen guys wide open that Ponder misses, and ive heard about alot more that were open on shows like Rosens sports Sunday. We dont have the best WRs in the NFL, your right, We dont have Megatron. But i promise you, Peyton would make us look like a playoff contender (if our D wasnt so horrible.). Please people, quit making excusses for Ponder. Mustgrave isnt going to call many medium to long routes until Ponder calms down and gains some confidence. Then maybe we can become a normal team, with the pass setting up the run.
Any change of heart after today :?: And Manning dropped his second game in a row today. He is 1-2.

I guess you don't believe he belongs on a list with young up and coming players?

Not too remarkable that you laid so low today. Ponder looked like an all pro instead of a noodle armed short weak peice of crap that you always portray him as.
I hope that you are enjoying a heaping amount of crow

Excellent post by Seifert.

Christian Ponder earns Vikings' trust
You guys and gals get all fired up when I "overreact" to an apparent trend. So let's put it this way: Ponder has done as much as possible through three games to suggest he is the Vikings' long-term answer at the position.

"We know with him back there, he's going to be accurate and we're going to pick up first downs," center John Sullivan said. "We're never going to be out of a football game, and I feel like we have incredible stability at that position now. We've kind of been in flux for a couple of years. Christian is answering all the questions. Hats off to him.

"I knew it was there," Sullivan added. "But at the same time, it has to work out on Sundays. We're 2-1, and we don't want to overstate that. But this is a really good football team here that we beat here today, and [Ponder] was a huge reason why we won this game. It's an enormous step in the right direction."

Yeah he looked great, finally threw a ball away, and ran when there was a lane. Made a number of accurate passes. Better than I ever expected him too. Was nice to see him audible and make adjustments more too. Only concern was when he went schizo a bit in the second half. And that wasn't a big deal since he didn't make any major mistakes (other than the one throw right to Whitner) and managed to not just game manage, but make some plays.

My biggest concern is how he doesn't seem to look past his first or second reads. I think. I guess, on his second TD to Rudolph, AD was WIDE open. Easy 6. But he threw the floater to Rudolph.

That said, he is worlds better than he was last season, and I am very happy for it :D

He had quite a bit of pressure coming at him. It's hard to tell from the TV broadcast but it looked to me like that pressure may have blocked his view of AD. I think if he had seen him so wide open, he would have thrown it to him.

Exactly! He has clearly made progress and that's what this season is all about for the Vikings: progress.

I Suppose. he was being pressured. I just hate seeing AD that wide open and not getting the ball. But, alsa, a win is a win!!!

After three games: zero ints., 4 tds, including an electrifying rushing td., 713 yds and a 105% Qb. rtg.
Not bad for an undersized noodle arm.

This was the first time I think I ever wondered, "Hmmm. Could this guy actually be more than just a "game manager"? I mean he was flat out good today. That's not to say he showed every possible skill, but if he plays like this every game, he could be a winner in this league.

Time will tell whether this was the exception or the rule, but I liked the progress.

If he can lay anywhere near where he did on a consistent basis we finally have a NFL QB and not a old man one year gap fill project.

I still think he reminds me of Steve Young a lot with a little bit of Rich Gannon mixed in for good measure.

Just out of curiousity, what are the other skills that you mentioned that he did not show :?:
