I meant if JJ was only given his first drive like Darnold was. The only apples to apples comparison are their first drives. After that, JJ gets extra reps and opportunities Darnold didn't have and has them against weaker players. Would Darnold have looked even better than his first drive? Would he have throw two INTs? Who knows.

Reality? The harsh reality is that McCarthy is on ice until 2025 & Darnold is our starting QB for 2024. Comparing them on such a small sample size in the first pre-season game seems pretty pointless now. Reality pretty much sucks when you're a Vikings' fan.
