Well, the positive vibes lasted for all of one post.

I found this article mentioning a few players in attendance. Two Vikings were honorary pallbearers and other players are mentioned in various articles.

1) Perhaps you could use a little restraint before passing judgement on people.

2) Where did you even get that idea?

IF Randy Had HALF the work ethic of Jerry Rice he would have demolished all of Rice's records by far. Randy had more natural Talent than any WR ever in the NFL

I agree with Lasermans assesment. and I might add that as much contempt as I hold for Randy, i was irate when the Packers barely missed out on aquiring him via trade with the Raiders (Though if I had known the details, I would have been staunchly opposed even at the time), which in hindsight, was almost the biggest gaffe made in Packers gm history, just take a guess as to what player we were prepared to send them..

Rodgers? Wow, I didn't know that. That would have been a gaffe of Chicago Cubs-like proportions!

But would history record it that way? As an Oakland Raider its possible Aaron Rodgers would not have amounted to a hill of beans and nobody would be any the wiser about what GB had given away.

I doubt that. Rodgers is a little bit too incredible for me to believe he wouldnt be at least a pro bowl QB with someone else.

Yup, thank the Patriots and TT's odd little comment about Randy stepping on Donald Drivers toes that that little number didnt play out.

But damn, the perceptions of the Packers and Raiders would be vastly different then they are now.

It could be, but its hard to know for sure. He had a good long while to wait in the wings and hone his craft with one of the better organizations in football and has spent his whole career in one system. If you are in Oakland, thrust into a new system, then into another new system, then into another new system, all the while surrounded by poor talent and organizational dysfunction, I'm not sure there is any player who is a sure fire star in those conditions. I think its something you should be proud of as a GB fan.

The Vikings, in my opinion, have never understood the value of continuity (or at least not lately). I'm hoping they'll stick with Spielman/Zimmer/Turner for the long haul. I think if they do they might begin to establish the kind of consistent success teams like Pittsburg have established over the years. I also feel like the Wilfs are a huge upgrade in ownership over the consortium/Red McCombs.
