"Goofy" is a good word to describe that...

That looks... awful.

Why a glass roof? I really hope that is just one guy's fantasy design and it is not indicative of what the real stadium will look like.

It's a metaphorical "F-you" to women because they can't play the game.

It doesn't look horrible to me. Judging that there was some backlash on the uniforms, I'm sure there will be more than a few fans to whine about the stadium as well.

I'm happy with any new stadium. It means the Vikings are staying in Minnesota. The end.

Glass ceiling helps save on the electric bill during day games?

Stick with longship and have the sides curved with ends opening and large dome in middle.

Or put a longship inside somewhere like the Bucs ship.

Yeah, over the course of a 10 game pre and regular season, they'd probably save about the equivalent of the salary of an assistant trainer.

Details of the TCF Bank Stadium Use Agreement between the Vikings and U of MN:

Vikings, University of Minnesota Reach Agreement On Use Of TCF Bank Stadium

Nothing here is really surprising. Temporary bleachers behind the end zone to "close the horseshoe" (though exact capacity is as yet unknown), a bunch of winterizing including heat coils under the field and new Fieldturf, etc.

About the only real interesting point will be that scheduling becomes tricky...only 1 non-Sunday home game per year, save perhaps for a Saturday in December once the Gopher season is done. (Maybe the Vikings do annual London reprises in 2014 & 2015 to save logistical headaches and replenish revenue coffers for what they'll be paying/not making at TCF?)

And if the total capacity with the temporary bleachers is less than the Dome, how do they decide who doesn't get in? I think capping it with whatever the season ticket holder count is makes sense; reward your most loyal "stockholder" customers first. Your unofficial "single-game" tickets are season tickets on the secondary resale market...scalper pricing or not...

Well the capacity difference is only just under 15,000 so I don't think there are going to be any season ticket holders left out in the cold, given that there are not 50k season ticket holders to start with.

Just read where the Gophers new Bank Stadium seats 51,000 thousand?

I have an idea where the Vikes could up that seating capacity by 20,000 by moving south to Kinnick Stadium

For the two years while waiting for our new home to be built, that would be great for the Iowa Viking fans :smilevike:
