You put Rudolph, Jennings and Joe Webb in the end zone and lob it up to one of them. That's all you need to do in that situation.
Joe Who???
Or, you hand the ball to the best running back in the NFL.

Not only that, but Ponder was actually looking good in the 2nd half. Not only do you tell your team your a chicken wuss, you also probably destroyed any confidence your weak #### QB had.
Yea but if you listen to BB, he talked about how from a coaching point of view it wasn't really that bad of a decision. Its one of those that if it works out for you it was genius and if it doesn't then its stupid

Joe, the 6'4" dude with the 42 inch vertical leap and good hands.

The pick 6 was egregious but other than that he was 277 yards passing, great gutsy runs for first downs, 2 touchdowns.
That is what is so MADDENING about him. Ponder can have a game like this and next week go 70 total yards passing and rushing
with 3 turnovers against the Browns. He totally could.

Exactly! All this does is keep the churn going. I need to see 16 consecutive quarters of solid QB play from this guy before I'd even consider backing off from criticizing him. He can perform at times. It's just the times are not consistent.
Well he's got 2 going right now...which I suppose is a streak for him

Sanford's penalty before the half was costly. Walsh's last FG would have made it a 9pt game
Ponder's pick 6 really hurt
Frazier's prevent, Cover-2 (aka nobody) defense is awful
Chris Cook is a disgrace

IF THEY SELL OUT FOR THE RUN and you put in a fullback or tight end's hands, he could walk right into the end zone. Happened against the Vikings defense on
Martellus Bennett.
If you get that touchdown, you essentially win the game. YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. And who cares about Ponder getting sacked? Walsh is 11-11
in 50 yards and I think only had 2 or 3 total blocks or misses in about 40 attempts. It doesn't even matter too much if he misses the field goal
because your opponent isn't going to go for the field goal with 3 minutes, 2 minutes warning, a time out and all the weapons they have.
They're going to PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. So you go for the freaking touchdown there!
That or every play is a run so you make your opponent burn every time out he has.

Really thought the Guion takeaway was gonna seal the game away for us. Disappointing that they settled for just handing it off and taking the FG. Let Ponder throw it to Rudolph or something, jeez.
Playcalling continues to be narrow and unimaginative. We got to see a little bit of Patterson, but it was the exact same WR screen they used last week in Detroit. I know the kid is raw but he has undeniable talent and it's a little bothersome that they've barely included him in the offense so far.

No. It's stupid, period. It's 3rd and goal, with 4 yds to the endzone. At least attempt to throw the ball. If no one is open, take the sack, clock still runs. There isn't much a difference between a 20 yd fg and a 24 yd fg. The play to throw though, at least gives you a chance to score. The run with Peterson had no chance, especially with AD injured. Just pure stupidity.[/quote]
Exactly.
