Wow we have a hard time once we get close to the redzone.
A message board dedicated to the discussion of Minnesota Viking Football.

That is 100% true - as Vegas odds deal strictly with what is being bet and of course not all bettors are all that smart about football.Jordysghost wrote:Vegas odds have less to do with who should actually be favored and more to do with a bunch of bullcrap.
Do you actually believe within football circles that the Bears are considered to be favorites over the Vikings? Really?
The 'smart' money.. lol.
Yes!!!yezzir wrote:Does AP looks quicker than he has all year to anyone else?
No, not many within football circles would think that a 2-4 team should be considered a favorite over a 4-2 team barring key injury.VikingPaul73 wrote: I'm not sure how much more clear I can make my stance, but, again......YES
If Vegas odds are so silly and stupid and inaccurate, why don't you move to Vegas and become a millionaire?
I'm with you here, it's the Vikings game to lose for sure.Jordysghost wrote: Gamblers fallacy. In no way should this game be considered an upset if the Vikings win.
Then move to Vegas and become a millionaire. Just pick any underdog with a better record than the favorite, and you'll never lose. You are a genius.Jordysghost wrote: No, not many within football circles would think that a 2-4 team should be considered a favorite over a 4-2 team barring key injury.
Some rich guy placing a bet on the Bears does not overcome the fact that one team is both more successful this season, and more talented.
But I get it 2-4 > 4-2 because Vegas said so, good to know.
Your comments make me think you still don't get it. Vegas is not saying 2-4 > 4-2 as far as talent goes, just that it want's more money to be bet on the 4-2 team.Jordysghost wrote: No, not many within football circles would think that a 2-4 team should be considered a favorite over a 4-2 team barring key injury.

Comically not to throw the conspiracy into this but I read an amazing article once about how a guy studied every aspect of the game all the players and still couldn't get above 70% in betting. Once he started looking at which vegas odds would net vegas the most money and used that in his calculations he was over 90%. Take it with a grain of salt but I believe vegas at least influences the refsVikingPaul73 wrote: I'm not sure how much more clear I can make my stance, but, again......YES
