My heart is just sick about this because Adrian Peterson has been one of my favorite players, period. I can accept the fact that as a human being, he has faults. But this... this is a deal breaker. I will always appreciate what Peterson did for the team and for the game, but I cannot support him knowing that he caused injury to his son. I have close personal experience with physical abuse and, while he may have not intended to hurt his child, his lack of judgement about the appropriate extent of punishment cannot be ignored.

I don't hate AD, I do not think he is a monster, or a bum, or a loser. I just don't want to have to cheer for him any more.

That's the truth. Believe me or not, it matters little.

I see this as a simple thing. AP disciplined HIS child in a way SOME PEOPLE don't agree with. And because of this his entire life is going to be over? His career? His freedom taken away?

The child was NOT hurt. No broken bones. No major injuries. I think everyone is taking this 'beating' stuff a little far. Probably cause most have never really had one or even seen one personally.

I'm trying to cut people some slack as I know this is a heated and frustrating event. Hopefully cooler heads prevail going forward.
