I find it interesting that we haven't heard a peep out of Jarius Wright. He's not hurt or anything is he? I mean I haven't heard anything about him making a good catch or running routes or improvement or anything.

@mattvensel: Play of the day so far was Audie Cole's pick-six of Bridgewater. Jumped flat route and took it to the house. First pick of camp for Teddy.

@christomasson: Mike Zimmer on Cordarrelle Patterson "He's confident but he's not like a couple of guys we had in Cincinnati He's pretty respectful about it
I wonder when the last time Mike Zimmer had _any_ say in how a team's offense is run? Is this the first time in his entire coaching career?

I can see Zimmer as someone who wouldn't have much patience for the antics of many of today's WRs and QBs. Having to deal with them now on a daily basis must be a little bit of culture shock. Like taking the guy who formerly managed the hardware department and putting him in charge of lady's cosmetics.

Probably. He's always been on the defensive side, even in college.

First and second team offense fail to score in 2-min Few bad throws from Cassel stalls drive. Bridgewater picked off by Derek Cox #Vikings
#Vikings working on 2-minute drill. Barr and Sanford with first team
Bridgewater now working with first team in 11-on-11 #Vikings
Really nice stunt from Crichton and Floyd to bring pressure on Cassel in second team 11-on-11 #Vikings
Adam Zimmer, a chip off the ol' block, yelling at Larry Dean after final 11-on-11 rep. #Vikings

Wow when Zimmer said every position outside RB is an open competition, he wasn't kidding!

I think the first one is #61, Joe Berger, but the Vikings don't list a #72 on the roster. Must have been an open tryout for punt returners. :P

Teddy getting a taste of those small NFL windows.
Ben Goessling

Derek Cox with a pick-six on Bridgewater; intended for Thielen on a hook route.
He also threw one yesterday to Cole.
Final quarterback stats in 11-on-11 work today: Cassel 9-12 with an INT, Bridgewater 10-17 with an INT, Ponder 5-for-5.

I keep hearing good things about Crichton and Floyd during training camp. Hopefully they both pan out well during the regular season get a couple of sacks and help us win some games.

Yeah, I've heard the guy contracted to sculpt his bust for Canton had been told to take it easy for a while.

Vikings Camp Report: Day 7
The Vikings had a hard, physical practice on Thursday, and Friday's high of 87 degrees made it the hottest day of training camp so far. Coach Mike Zimmer said he anticipated the team's practice level might drop off a bit on Friday afternoon, and he was correct. Asked to describe the day, Zimmer said, "Sloppy. I didn't think we were as precise as we've been on both sides of the ball. The effort was good, but we've got a lot of things in, so some of the stuff runs together for them. We're making way too many mistakes, though, for my liking, so we've got to keep working it, getting this stuff right."
