This was a game we needed to win because now we have to play Chicago on the road. And they are way much more tougher than the Lions.

Lemme ask you again...HOW? When your quarterback is that inept, why in the world would you want to call plays with more complexity? Because that's what opening it up entails.

How many D's in the league can overcome that many TO's? I don't care who you are, that is incredibly hard to win with that many TO's. Did our D play great, no, but good lord, stop turning the ball over
ya the d could obviously been better but i'm pretty taken back by the comments on them today. they were on the field 37 minutes and dealt with 4 turnovers. not sure people really understand the difficulty of that.

At least if we play like this for the whole season, we could pickup a Mariota or Manziel as #1 pick

You see ever since ATL got rid of him they've been much more explosive on offense.

They've also add Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez and Jacquizz Rodgers.

Because Ponder is incapable.

Actually, what the Vikings should hope happens in that case is Manziel continues the antics and scares other teams off so he goes into the draft as a consensus 2nd day pick, then the Vikes can use their high pick to snag Clowney *and* still get Manziel early in the 2nd. THAT would be killer.

This team has more issues than Ponder. They can't stop the run they can't cover the middle. They don't have the talent to match their scheme on defense. And they don't seem to know how to make use of their talent on offense.
It's just one game on the road against a team with much to prove.......but they made more plays with the pass than run today. They are not fooling anyone with their schemes.
Did JWright even have a ball throw in his direction?
This isn't a west coast offense....it's a wet toast offense~

I've had it with discovering the play book half way through the 3rd quarter. I've had it with passes behind the line of scrimmage on third and 14 and having a right handed quarterback roll out to the left. I am sick and TIRED of Ponder and the playcalling hanging the defense out to dry with a 5 turnover shocking display of ineptitude and people always blaming the defense and not PONDER AND MUSGRAVE AND THIS FRANCHISE NOT GETTING A LEGITIMATE FULL TIME STARTER SINCE GODDAMNED DAUNTE CULPEPPER!
The Bears will kill us if we don't right this ship!

The Vikings would have to be really really awful to snag Clowney. He's the #1 pick by leaps and bounds right now.

I'd say our defense kept this game looking "closer than it really was." Detroit pretty much dominated us today (save for our first offensive play of the game).

The Vikings' offense didn't play horribly, other than the QB. The receivers were out there playing their butts off, but the ball was seldom accurately thrown.
The Vikings defense, though, is what really disappointed. Everyone except Smith, Greenway and Robinson looked lost or overmatched. It's going to be a long season for both Cook and Rhodes. If the Lions hadn't made so many boneheaded mistakes, this game wouldn't have been nearly as close as it was.
Hopefully Jeff Locke just had the jitters in his first game, because if he continues to play like today, it will be yet another handicap to overcome.
