Vikings sign Dalvin Tomlinson DT
https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2021/0 ... ee-agency/
A little about him:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com ... -tomlinson
Seems like a great run defender who gets some push up the gut.

It's a nice signing. We don't have that much cap space, so I don't expect the Vikings to be big spenders this free agency...

Didn't realize a thread was already made, but I'll copy what I said there in here.

2 Years, $22 Million dollars
His contract is frontloaded at $16M in the first year, but I'll say this:
The Vikings got an absolute steal at that contract. Since 2017, Tomlinson has the 2nd-best Run-Stuff rate at 5.1%. This helps the Vikings two-fold: 1.) It helps the Vikings in the Defensive Line, who were run over with impunity without either Pierce or Hunter. and 2.) It helps the Linebacking corps from having to carry the burden, leaving Kendricks and Barr to carry wanton destruction wherever they go.
Mark my words, this defensive line, if Hunter stays, is going to be deadly. I can even see Tomlinson becoming the next Linval Joseph and Pierce Sharrif Floyd.

Highlights. Dude looks country strong. Him and Pierce should be a brick wall. Just have to get Hunter happy and maybe draft Kwity Paye?

I never heard of him but it seems like a nice signing to go with Pierce, it looks like Vikings will not be drafting a defensive tackle in the first round

Sharrif Floyd is not a good comparison with Pierce since Sharrif had too many injuriesRhodes Closed wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:38 pm Didn't realize a thread was already made, but I'll copy what I said there in here.

I never watch the Giants and didn't know anything about him either. He looks stout though. Re: Vikings sign Dalvin Tomlinson DT
He seems very similar to Pierce as a true NT
I thought they were in need of a 3-tech. Are the Vikings going to change their D style slightly from a NT and 3-tech to 2 NT?
He looks like a good NT but a little confused here ...

Re: Vikings sign Dalvin Tomlinson DT
From what I'm reading, both Pierce and Tomlinson are going to trade places *as* 3-Tech and Nose depending on offensive formation play-by-play. They're essentially going to both work as a fluid tandem to flush out the offense.VikingPaul73 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:28 pm He seems very similar to Pierce as a true NT
