Vikings @ Cowboys Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
It's early Sunday morning. Skol.
Could be a blowout for the ages with our already awful secondary on the bench with injuries.
Prediction: Vikes 23, Cowboys 20.

Re: Vikings @ Cowboys Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
Lets see, the Packers led us 41-17, before garbage time, at the dome, with 4th string receivers, and a banged up defense. However we always seem to do ok vs Romo. However 2.0, we also had Eli's number and that didn't seem to work in our favor.
Cowboys in a laugher 44-20.
Romo close to 400 with 4 TD's. Ponder with another head shaker.
Romo's career vs the Vikings.I guess we don't play the Cowboys very often. Only 2 regular season games since 2005. And only our 2nd trip to Dallas since 2000. 1st game at their new stadium. Haven't won at Dallas since thanksgiving 2000 when Culpepper beat Aikman 24-15.

I'm calling a 'simple reverse' on the 2000 Dallas score:
Vikings - 24
Dallas - 51

I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!
Re: Vikings @ Cowboys Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
You mean when they accused us of running up the score at the end? That was Keith Brooking, he was pretty butt-hurt about that late TD. He's no longer playing football.Jeffbleedspurple wrote:I don't know how many players are left on their roster from the 2009 team, but I look for paybacks from what they called a cheap shot running up of the score game, they were pretty mad about that, now it's going to come back and bite us
EDIT: And I'm pretty sure they're going to have no probably running up the score all day today xD.

But I was curious too so to better answer your question. These are the remaining hold overs from that 2009 team. Not very many. And Jason Garrett was only the offensive coordinator back then.Jeffbleedspurple wrote:I don't know how many players are left on their roster from the 2009 team, but I look for paybacks from what they called a cheap shot running up of the score game, they were pretty mad about that, now it's going to come back and bite us

He was the loudest, or the biggest running up the score conspiracy theorist.Jeffbleedspurple wrote: Yes! That one, you mean 1 player raised that big of a stnk?

Brooking made headlines in January 2010 when the Cowboys were defeated by Minnesota in the divisional round of the playoffs. Brett Favre threw four touchdown passes during the game, and Brooking argued that since the Vikings had already won by the fourth quarter, the last pass was unnecessary, unsportsmanlike, and served no purpose other than to run the score up and pad Favre's stats. Brooking also displayed his anger by violently choking Minnesota Viking's Bernard Berrian with his forearm after a tackle, only to be pulled off by a referee.

So since I'm not local enough to the game for it to be on my TV, all I can do is pay attention to updates right? I can't watch it online or anything anywhere?

You can listen to it online at NFL.com (for a price) and there are sites out there that illegally stream the games if you want hunt one down. When the games aren't on here in Chicago I usually just listen using NFL Audio Pass. It's a good deal, especially since it gives you access to the home and away broadcasts for every game.SterlingANJ wrote:So since I'm not local enough to the game for it to be on my TV, all I can do is pay attention to updates right? Oh, I'm for SURE pumped up now! You just sang my favorite song!

Nah, I'm ALWAYS excited leading up to a game. It's just usually during the game that I begin to question my sanity. lol.
And, I've been thinking lately, you know what? We pretty much know this season is toast, but if we can somehow manage to end the season with a few wins vs. teams like the Steelers, Cowboys, anyone in our division, and maybe those Eagles...I can be somewhat happy with that.
Let's do THIS!!!

Re: Vikings @ Cowboys Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
You make a good point there. Hmmm I wonder if Bryant will be a big target today. Frazier and his minion, the defensive mastermind Alan Williams will respond by putting their favorite DB on him ... Robinson. Who has been targeted what, 300 times for 299 completions and 58 TD's by opposing QB's this year? 1 pass was dropped.radar55 wrote:After Bryant thru his tantrum last week and this teams secondary

Re: Vikings @ Cowboys Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
So I've been reading in a few places that people are thinking the Vikes will win this one because the Cowboys have a weak defense, so hand the ball to Peterson and slip thru 'em! That'd be great!
