If Ponder wouldn't cough the ball up three times that's less the offence has to score, less time they have to wear the defence out. If you want to start with problems on these team and the first word isn't ponder your in denial.

ponder sucked. bet you won't find anyone disputing that. however, that fumble is rough. your center steps on your foot and you're falling down is tough on even the best qb.

and to clear up obvious confusion....this is not me saying ponder is amazing, being a ponder lover, making excuses for ponder, etc.
i'm ready for a beer.

while we wallow in pity, lets also remember we put up 24 points, so we're not too far off from being a competent offense. If our D shows up this could've been a diff story.

Other than making sure AD doesn't go wild, I don't think any defensive cooridnators worry about anything from our offense.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Hey, you can't beat this team on the road if you turn it over 5 times. Just that simple.

It's not that Ponder and the Vikings are incapable of completing downfield passes. It's just that it's a very low percentage play.

It would've helped if his turnovers didn't lead to Detroit points. I'll settle for less points as long as the only ones he scores are for the Vikings and not their opponents. I was more unhappy with the offense than the defense...

I agree, we replace our QB and were a competent offence.

This game was far worse than the score. The team was thrashed today. What will end Ponder's reign is a 0-4 start. 0-2 with high expectations got TJack in 2008. The stupid floater INT reminiscent of the similar pass in Week 17 in his coronation game as was pointed out in this thread are unforgivable.

On to next week! Bears on the road will be a fun test.

How many D's in the league can overcome that many TO's? I don't care who you are, that is incredibly hard to win with that many TO's. Did our D play great, no, but good lord, stop turning the ball over

Or converting a 3rd down. And keeping the D off the field.

I'm sure a few will blame our defence, and WR not getting open, even know Simpson went for 140 yards and Jennings, Rudolph, and A.p were open countless times and not even seen. Even on the simplest 5 yard throws WR seem to have problems catching Ponder inaccurate throws, and when we should hit a deep td in perfect stride he over throws it for a circus like catch.

There was still questionable blocking. The receivers didn't get open. The defense didn't stop the Lions. The refs.

Yada, yada, yada...
