Brian Robison's shoulder injury

Post by The Breeze »

Am I the only one who is irritated by this?

"The most difficult thing was feeling like I didn't have any arms to play with. It was like going in there trying to put my hands behind my back and play everything with my shoulders," he said. "I think the game it really showed up in was the playoff game. I didn't feel like I was anywhere near 100 percent, but the competitor in me just wouldn't let me chill out and sit out."

I really like this guy and think he can take it to another level but how is a Robison at nowhere near 100% better than a healthy Griffin? I realize that part of the quote may have just been regarding the GB game.....still, both his shoulder and elbow were messed up later in the season. Despite his good numbers, i'm just a little confused at why they didn't make more of an effort to rest him when he plays a position that we have some actual depth in.

I think they sat him for the remainder of the St. Louis game (he suffered the injury early in that one) and I'm pretty sure he didn't play against Houston the following week. If I remember correctly, Griffen received extensive playing time the week after that in the home finale against GB. It seems like they did make an effort to rest Robison.

If that's the case, my irritation is misplaced. I thought Robison was injured earlier and could have easily confused him with Allen. I guess with both of the starting DEs having significant shoulder issues it got me thinking about what kind of year Griffen coulda had with more snaps. I think all 3 of them are really good and there is no reason why one of them should play hurt if another is healthy. Of course Allen would have to be in multiple pieces before he'd take a game off....

Looks like it could be a huge year for this unit if they are healed up.

I'm going to have to find something else to be irritated about.

LOL!

I know what you mean. I'm pretty enthused about what Griffen brings to the team and I'd like to see him on the field even more. I'm hoping Spielman will try to extend his contract this year, before the season ends and he has a chance to leave in free agency.

That should be easy. There's always something!
