Go small ball? Only fitting those small ballers finish out the last 3 and this cute little team loses to a HOME RUN.
What a great run. Have fun looking forward to some more free agent bums and another silly little fight for an average division again next year. Maybe the owner will cut the pay roll now that he knows he can cut pay roll and still keep the fans happy.
Guess this is the fore mentioned "collapse" someone brought up earlier. I hope this team feels CRAP after this last week. Pathetic.

They choked. They blew it. IMO, they lost the division when they didn't make a move at the trade deadline. Adrian Beltre was there for the taking. All they had to do was give up one of their young pitchers, and you know the chances of all three being this good for years to come is slim to none at best, so they could have sent one of them to Seattle, especially with Liriano still in the minors at the time.
I agree with you, Demi that they will never do more than just get to the play offs until the owner and GM decide to be agressive. But my point earlier was that NO ONE saw this coming this season. No one. They all came together, and considering what they had, did a very good job. I just wish Gardenhire didn't have such a man-crush on Nick Punto. When he was hurt was when the Twins were at their best. Harris was a much better offensive shortstop, and was no slouch on defense either. Buscher did good for them at 3B when he was allowed to play until Punto came back.

I just came from the game.DanAS1 wrote:It was a nice run, given the talent level. But tonight's game still hurts -- not the way I wanted to start the Jewish New Year.

That said, it was awesome to see the Sox win their 3rd game in a row and advance to the postseason. They're just fortunate tonight's game was in Chicago, not Minnesota.

Well I've lost a lot of respect for you, Jim...

Re: Twins
FWIW, I think the Twins would have put up more of a fight against the Rays then Chicago is.
