Re: This Week's Enemy Fan Forums: The St. Louis Rams

I actually think we lose this game. The Rams defense is highly underrated. Their Dline will have no problem containing AD, especially since our Oline is highly questionable right now. They've got some monster guys anchoring that middle and also athletic guys to get pressure. Michael Brockers is an ...

Re: Vikings @ Rams Week 1 Predictions

Don't see many points being scored in this one. The Rams offense figured to be pretty anemic with Sam Bradford, and while Shaun Hill isn't a huge step down, he is a step-down. I don't have much fear of a Zac Stacy-led Rams rushing attack, either. The threat of Tavon Austin breaking a big-play on the ...

Re: How many Vikings wins this year.

9-7 fighting for a wild card spot right to the end...with a few breaks, 10-6 and fighting for the division title. I don't think there's better than a 10 win team in this division.
Green Bay's going to be giving up 30 points a game, I swear, they spend a 1st Round pick on defense every year and they ...

Re: Vikings' Christian Ponder open to trade, but maximizing

Have they said if Teddy or Ponder is starting tomorrow? I always thought Ponder got a bad break here. I think with good talent around him he could be a pretty good QB. CP7 to CP84 you know...

Bridgewater will start, Ponder will play. My guess is Bridgewater takes two or three series, breaks a ...

Re: Matt Cassel named starter

Shaun Hill will be the Rams starter regardless of if they trade for Ponder, Sanchez, Mallett or whoever. No QB they acquire now will be ready for week 1 and I'm not entirely sure any of those guys or anyone else they would get right now is better than Hill anyway.

They're looking for an upgrade on ...

Re: Matt Cassel named starter

Now, have we called the Rams to see if they're interested in Ponder? I hear they might need another QB. Cassel vs Ponder week 1?
Even if the Rams were interested, do you really think Ponder would be able to get up to speed with their offense in less than 13 days? I doubt it. If he'd been ...

Well, let's go through game-by-game:
@STL:Definitely winnable, but on the road? More likely: L
NE: New England has had some clunkers early the last few years, but I don't like our chances: L
@NO: The only place the Vikings are less likely to win would be in Chicago: L
ATL: W
@GB: L
DET: W
@BUF: W ...

Re: How will Vikings use Anthony Barr?

I think our primary 4-2 front would be Barr/Griffen/Joseph/Robison.
So our 4-2, presumably put out there to defend the pass...has 323 lbs run-stuffer Linval Joseph over Shariff Floyd or Corey Wootton? While Joseph may not be a liability to the pass rush the way Pat Williams often was, Floyd ...

Re: Why is Ponder still on the team???

I really don't understand all the talk of having a "developing QB" in the #3 spot. Really, who was the last #3 QB to develop into being a quality NFL starter? Tony Romo as a rookie in Dallas?
Think of all the guys who have been through here in the last two decades or so, the guy drafted in the 5th ...

Re: What does Teddy have to do to win qb job?

I would say I agree with the last few posts. Cassel has to lose the job for Bridgewater to "win" it. As to the idea that the Vikings would somehow be okay with going 6-10 with Bridgewater than 8-8 with Cassel? Show me an NFL Head Coach who thinks like that, and I'll show you an ex-NFL Head Coach ...

Re: Teddy Bridgewater

I like this pick, I especially like that it happened at the end of the first round. The fifth year option is huge. Now, fans just need to be patient. Let Cassel be the guy this year, with Ponder as the backup...Teddy DOES NOT PLAY, with the possible exception of mop-up duty. If we're up 28, down 28 ...

Re: Drafting a RB

Charles Sims 6'0" 214 lbs from West Virginia by way of Houston. He's got sub 4.5 speed, he catches the ball very well with 82 catches for six tds the last two seasons. 1095 yards and 11 tds last year, good for first team All Big 12 (coaches). If you want a true third-down back, you could do worse ...

Re: If teddy is there at #8 do you take him now?

I say no, not because I think Bridgewater can't be a quality NFL QB, but because I doubt how well he fits into Norv Turner's system and what Norv wants to do. Turner has traditionally favored bigger QBs with more vertical passing ability (one reason I think Cassel may very well thrive in this ...
