Re: Jeremiah Sirles, Alex Boone and Phil Mackey break down the NINE sacks Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold
I think there's a decent chance that if Tom Brady or Drew Brees had been drafted and started by the Jets team that Darnold went to and subsequently went to the Panthers they wouldn't be considered anywhere near great.
Football is the ultimate team sport and those Jets teams, especially their ...

Re: Jeremiah Sirles, Alex Boone and Phil Mackey break down the NINE sacks Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold
Sam is definitely not the type of QB that Brees and Brady were. For one, Darnold has a cannon !
I believe the reason for holding onto the ball so long is because his entire life, he could just wait for the guy to get open and then fire a rocket into that spot. There is a reason he was the #3 pick ...

Re: 1975 vikes vs cowboys
A few years ago there was a thread about the best Viking team of all time and it was interesting. That 98 team had a great season and was lead by rookie Randy Moss. He scored 17 TDs which is an incredible number. But IMO that 2009 team was a better overall team just based on having a HOF QB. That ...

Re: 2025 Schedule
In the end they lost to the Lions which was a better team and the Rams where the coach that taught our coach handed him another lesson.
They definitely weren't winning the super bowl last year, but I'm not sure they "folded" as much as had their worst possible matchups.
I know a lot of people ...

Re: Jeremiah Sirles, Alex Boone and Phil Mackey break down the NINE sacks Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold
Darnold had a long history of holding the ball too long before he got to the Vikings and while he seemed to improve a bit in that area during his time in Minnesota he regressed badly in those last two losses.

Re: Draft Day Discussion
One thing I do like about Jackson is the fact he volunteered to take over at LT when the Buckeye's starter at that position went out due to injury. He could have played it safe and stayed at LG, but he took a risk and moved over to play a pretty high profile position on a pretty high profile team ...

Re: Draft Day Discussion
The Jackson pick at #24 met a need but wasn't great value at that slot. Jackson was pretty universally regarded as as mid 2nd round prospect heading into the draft and once the top 2 guards were off the board I was sure KAM would try to trade down into the early 2nd where Jackson made more sense ...

Re: Draft Day Discussion
Agreed! Don't think they'd want to deal with everything (fair or not) with a backup QB, who doesn't have any NFL experience.
I'm going to go against the herd mentality about Sanders. To me the question is does he have the ability or not. He will most likely become the Browns starting QB ...

Re: Draft Day Discussion
I thought the Vikings had a good draft given what they needed to get out of it.

Re: Draft Day Discussion
It is going to be interesting to see if Vikings are going to trade down and get more picks or just use all the picks without trading down
:welcome
First, welcome to the board!
As far as trading down I was surprised they didn't trade down out of #24. I assume they must have really liked ...

Re: Draft Day Discussion
If Brugler's big board ranking is correct getting player 48 at pick 24 is not good, but I think most NFL teams had him top 30. The top 3 guards all went early in the draft and the Vikings most likely could not have got him even at 26 as most analysts had Houston all set to take him at pick 25. He ...

Re: Draft Day Discussion
I put the odds of KAM trading back at around 75% IF he moves no further than pick #42. He'll look to pick up an additional 3rd rounder or a 2026 2nd rounder in the deal. Who he'll take if he moves back depends on how far back he goes, but based on the way the draft is likely to go he'll have a shot ...

Re: Offseason Thread
Jalen Ramsey and the Dolphins are reportedly open to a trade. It would be awesome if the Vikings could make that happen.
I have a feeling KAM will wait until after the draft to make any additional vet moves. I see a lot of mocks where the Vikings take a CB with their first pick, and if that ...

Re: Offseason Thread
Joe Flacco agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns on a one-year, $4 million deal, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported Friday, per sources.
I'm not surprised by that quite honestly because Flacco is likely to get a great shot at being the starting QB for them while he would not have ...
